we stayed at Caxton for an impromptu weekend away, we had a balcony room.
It was really excellant, nothing was too much trouble. Wendy even bought us up some candles as we decided to use the balcony (it was a mild january) the room was warm, bed very comfy and all the bed linen and towels were spotless.
The breakfast was top notch, well cooked and lots of choice, had some rather good home made oat/potatoe cakes, and had some freshly baked wheat free bread to go with the homemade jams.I wish i had had the evening meal!
A home from home with better cooking!
My family and I stayed with Wendy and Paul during a very difficult time. Upon arrival we were treated to the most wonderfully warm welcolme and instantly felt comfortable and at home and it was clear observing the other guests that the same exceptional hospitality was not reserved for us alone.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable and imaculatley clean, Paul is a superb chef and the breakfast and evening meals were really something to look forward to espcially all the home-baked bread. Dinosaur shaped bread available on request!!!!
I really can't rave about the Caxton house enough and genuinely look forward to staying again soon!
Warmth and Hospitality immeasurable
Wendy and Paul not only go the extra mile in their case its five.Special occasions are obviously a joy to accomadate and they enjoymaking everyone feel extra special. pauls food is amazing do not go here if you are on a diet , yes do diet when you go back home. we had such a wonderful long weekend we hope to return nother time.
Gluten free heaven
What a treat ! A full gluten free menu was available on request. This menu had an excellent choice of tasty food which I could trust was trully gluten free. The chef knows what he is doing and had read all the labels for me!
Our young children were made to feel very welcome and were well catered for. Our accomodation was very clean and comfortable - the children loved their bunk beds.
Everything made for a relaxing weeks break, and we're sure to return.
Caxton house a friendly place
I loved Caxton House simple very comfortable rooms. Outstanding food both breakfast and tea if you wish, Just £10 for a full 3 courses cooked by a chef who used to work at Lloydes of London. It's close to the beach and about a 10min slow walk to Skegness town center. The staff are very friendly and family orientated this place is perfect for young families I took my 7month year old and they could not have been more helpful. Warming food up, the use of highchairs and generally helping out opening doors when you have a pushchair etc. This place is perfect for very young Families and people/couples young or old who want a quiet time away with great food!!!
