Caxton house is a family run business and home to Wendy and Paul. Paul is the chef with over 30 years experience in the hotel and restaurant trade. Following a time served apprenticeship, he worked his way up to become one of the head chefs for Lloyds of London.
Wendy pursued a career in Nursing for 12 years until she decided to follow her dream of running her own Business. Her creative side lead her to choose floristry. The next decade was committed to running her florist in Essex . During this time Wendy and her staff concentrated on providing high quality flowers and quality service to their customers. This paid off and in 2006 the shop successfully achieved the Top UK
Independent Florist Shop Award.
Around this time Paul and Wendy decided they wanted to combine both careers, Paul's passion and flair for food coupled with Wendy's caring for people. They wrote a wish list of the type of place they were looking for then spent the next year searching. In 2007 they found Caxton house, which meet all their wishes for a perfect retreat by the sea.
Both Paul and Wendy practice the ancient Japanese art of Reiki, this they feel helps them maintain the calm tranquil feeling through out the house. They strive to provide a warm welcoming relaxing atmosphere at Caxton house . Believing greatly in Quality as opposed to Quantity, they pay particular attention to the little details to make your stay that extra bit special.
